The Slugger is the first and only briquetter capable of running from a tractor's power take-off and has the lowest cost per pound of throughput of any other briquette press on a comparable scale!

The BHS Energy Slugger biomass briquette press is designed to be rugged and easy to use, and works with a wide variety of feedstock materials. The Slugger can make either 1.5 inch (38mm) or 2 inch (51mm) round fuel briquettes. The basic system is powered by a tractor's 30+ hp power take-off, and optional 3-phase or single phase electric or a standalone diesel engine power unit can be installed to power the system. It is also of a size that can be installed on an optional equipment trailer, small enough to be towed by a pickup truck with no special licensing required. All of these features combine to make the Slugger biomass briquette system an extremely versatile unit that can meet everyone's needs, from the farmer and small energy producer up to the large energy producer in a factory setting!

Slugger Specifications

Power Requirements:	standard unit: 30-40 hp or higher power take-off @ 475-500 RPM electric unit: 25 kW 3-phase (or 220 volt single phase with phase converter) Note: all systems additionally require approximately 4 kW of standard 220-230 volt, 50-60 hz power.
Briquette Size:	1.625 inch (41 mm) diameter or 2.125 inch (54 mm) diameter
Throughput: **	Approximately 300 to 650 lbs. per hour with 1.5 inch size Approximately 400 to 950 lbs. per hour with 2 inch size Note: Throughput will vary based on many factors such as grind size, moisture content and the feedstock material being used.
Feed System:	System is fed using air conveyance, and the blower is included. Pre-ground material can be fed into the air stream from a silo, or material can even be sucked from a pile by hand. On systems that include an integrated hammermill grinder, the feedstock must be dropped into the hammermill to feed the system.
Feedstock Moisture:	8-15% moisture (by weight) content for most biomass feedstocks 20-30% moisture (by weight) content for cardboard and paper products
Binders:	No binders are required
Feedstock Grind:	Hammermill or tub grinder for most materials MSW, paper and cardboard requrie special shredders
